Hulu Announced $10 Hike in Live TV Subscriptions

Hulu, an on-demand video service provider, is increasing the price of its Live TV monthly subscriptions by $10 from Wednesday. The price hike will make it the most costly live TV streaming service in U.S. markets.

The price increase was announced by Hulu last month. It has changed the price of its basic Hulu+ Live TV plans from $44.99 yo $54.99. Prices for the ad-free version is also raised up to $66.99.

The market competitors, including YouTube TV, costs $49.99, Sling costs $25 a month, while AT & T’s subscribers are paying $50 for a month-long subscription.

The TV platform was established in 2017, which currently possesses more than 60 channels, including Bravo, TNT, Fox Sports and other major channels, Hulu said in a blog post.

30 percent of the company’s stake is acquired by Walt Disney Co. in a $71 billion deal for Fox media properties. Disney also owns a 9.5 percent stake in AT&T in a $1.4 billion purchase. NBC also possesses a 30 percent stake in Hulu. Hulu completed its 28.5 million paid subscribers earlier this month, Disney announced.

The TV streaming platform is striving to leverage the impact of its raised pricing by providing users with a facility to shift between their plans and select better fit plans considering their requirements.

In terms of channel accessibility, Hulu+ Live TV offers more than 60 channels, while YouTube TV includes in excess of 70 channels just as YouTube Red Originals. AT&T TV now incorporates more than 45 live TV stations, and Sling TV incorporates 29, as per the site Tom’s Guide.

Hulu’s customary, non-Live TV streaming alternatives are a lot less expensive, costing just $5.99 every month or $11.99 per month without any plugs.
